POLK COUNTY, Fla. – Sheriff’s deputies in Polk County, Fla., have arrested the “Grinch” who they believe stole a family’s Christmas last week.

Detectives say Raheim Jamaar Johnson, 28, was the man caught on video breaking into a Lakeland home and making off with gifts and other items.

Investigators said the victim left his home early on Monday, December 20, to meet his family.

When she returned home, she found her front door unlocked and all the wrapped Christmas presents were gone.

After deputies released details of the robbery, they received several tips identifying Johnson as the man in the photos and were able to obtain a warrant for his arrest.

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd thanked the community for helping catch Johnson.

“I am grateful for all the advice we have received from the community. And even though he wasn’t in jail at Christmas, he’s in jail now,” Judd said.
